Ian Storey

Born in the  ,United Kingdom, studied Graphics and Design at the Loughborough, and has  ,later worked in New Zealand, country where he began his singing studies. Come  ,back in Great Britain, he followed his studies in London, under Laura Sarti.

He debuts in 1991  ,in Britten's The rape of Lucretia, La bohéme, Aida, and in 1993 takes part at the London National Opera  ,Studio masterclasses, sponsored by the Covent Garden and the Peter Moores  ,Foundation.

He sings at  ,Glasgow Scottish Opera in The makropoulos Case, Tosca,  ,La bohéme, Il trovatore, Peter Grimes,  ,La forza  ,del destino (1867  ,version), Kat'à Kabanova and a new  ,Madama Butterfly, and at the Welsh  ,National Opera in Cardiff in Tosca,  ,Carmen, Un ballo in maschera, Madama  ,Butterfly, Turandot and a new Katya Kabanova.

He made his  ,debut in Italy at the Puccini  , Festival in Torre del Lago and at the Teatro Verdi in  ,Trieste as Calaf in Turandot, The Makropoulos case and Jenufa in Naples, Smareglia's Nozze istriane in Trieste, Carmen in Cagliari, Lulu in Palermo, Samson et Dalila in Genova and at the Royal Opera House, Pikovaja Dama in Bologna, Ariadne auf Naxos in Venice and  ,Lisbon, Turandot in Verona with  ,the new Berio ending, Fanciulla del  ,West in Turin.

He made his  ,debut at La Scala as Erik in Der  ,fliegende Hollaender, and in Madrid in Pique Dame sharing the performances with Placido Domingo.

He has opened  ,a new production of Otello in St.  ,Gallen and in Naples, Fidelio in  ,Glasgow and Edinburgh, Turandot in  ,Montpellier and for his debut at the Covent Garden, a new production of Tannhauser in Frankfurt and Jenufa in la Scala, Les Troyens in Berlin, Boris Godunov in Turin, Tannhauser in  ,Bologna, Rienzi in New York.

He sang the  ,title role in a new production of Tristan  ,und Isolde for the opening of 07/08 season in La Scala, and then in a new  ,production in Zurich, Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper Berlin, Barcelona, Genova,  ,Glyndebourne, Bregenz and Düsseldorf.

He has been  ,conducted, among the others, by Richard Armstrong, Daniel Barenboim, Bruno Bartoletti,  ,James Conlon, Mark Elder, Vladimir Jurowski, Valery Gergiev, lngo  ,Metzmacher, Eliahu lnbal, Michel Plasson, George Pehlivahnian, Carlo Rizzi,  ,Gennadij Rohstedvenski, Donald Runnicles, Marcello Viotti.
