Renzo Ran

Chinese bass Renzo Ran is a recent graduate of the Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" in Turin after studying in Beijing where he gained a scholarship for his outstanding talent.

Winner of the role of Commendatore in Don Giovanni at the international contest then he has debuted in many Italian theatres, as well as Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Frate in Don Carlo. He has collaborated with important conductors and directors.

Further he sang as Plutone in La favola di Orfeo, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Priester in Die Zauberflöte  ,at the Teatro Regio Turin, Zuniga in Carmen at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Zio Bonzo in Madama Butterfly in Wolfsburg, Neuburg and Hanau (Germany), Wels, Steyr and Schaffhausen (Austria), Winterthur (Switzerland), State Opera of Rousse.

Recent and future engagements include: Padre Superiore in Il  ,Colore del Sole at the Teatro Pergolesi Jesi and at the Teatro  ,Pavarotti Modena (World Premiere), Zio Bonzo in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Hanz Schwarz in Die Meistersinger von  ,Nürnberg at the National Center of Performing Art of Beijing, where he will come back again next year with Il barbiere di Siviglia (Paisiello and Rossini), Zio Bonzo in Madama Butterfly at the San Leucio di  ,Caserta with the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Salerno, Idomeneo at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Aida in Busseto for the Festival Verdi, Tosca at the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte for OperaDomani aand the new production of Madama Butterfly  ,at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
