Didier Pieri
Didier Pieri was born in Livorno in 1989 and had his first degree in D.A.M.S. in Firenze with a thesis titled "Don Carlos, the new Verdi’s language". Actually he’s writing his master’s degree thesis in Arts and Sciences of Entertainment titled "La fanciulla del West: historic productions".
He began study singing in Firenze, and then, in 2013,he started his technical development in Paris with soprano Yva Barthélémy, author of La voix liberée (1984, 2011) an unusual scientific treatise on the art of singing.
He made his stage debut in 2016 and since then he has performed the roles of Saint-Brioche (La vedova allegra), Gastone (La traviata), Bastien (Bastien und Bastienne), Gherardo (Gianni Schicchi), Remendado (Carmen), Cenciaiuolo (Iris), Edmondo-Maestro di Ballo-Lampionaio (Manon Lescaut), Goro (Madama Butterfly), Spoletta (Tosca), Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor), Ruiz (Il trovatore), Borsa (Rigoletto), Abate di Chazeuil (Adriana Lecouvreur), Prunier (La rondine), on some of the main Italian stages such as Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, Macerata Opera Festival, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, Teatro Grande di Brescia, Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona, Teatro Fraschini di Pavia, Teatro Sociale di Como, Luglio Musicale Trapanese, Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina, l’Ente Marialisa de Carolis di Sassari, Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, Teatro Coccia di Novara.
In 2017 he partecipates to the world première of Delitto e Dovere, opera by Alberto Colla from Oscar Wilde, at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, which had been repeated at the Teatro Coccia in Novara and broadcasted on Sky Classica. The world first dvd of Iris by Pietro Mascagni, in which he sung the roles of Un merciaiuolo and Un Cienciaiuolo, realized at the Teatro Goldoni di Livorno, was recently launched by Bongiovanni.
In 2018 he joined the Bari’s Teatro Petruzzelli tournée in Japan, singing Pang (Turandot) at Bunka Kaikan Theatre in Tokyo and at Osaka Festival Hall.
In 2018 he made his debut as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) at the Teatro Francesco Cilea in Reggio Calabria, he will return to this role for the opening of the Luglio Musicale Trapanese 2021. Added to this are other principal roles such as Orphée (Orphée aux Infers – Offenbach, Luglio Musicale Trapanese, 2019) and Gonzalve in L’heure espagnole by Ravel in Cremona, Brescia, Como e Pavia (As.Li.Co) in 2020.
Recently he sang Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni in Como and Cremona, Prunier in La Rondine and Pang in Turandot at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago, Arlecchino in Le Maschere in Livorno, Spoletta in Tosca in Rome, where he will come back as Il Tinca in the new production of Il Tabarro conducted by M° Mariotti. Then he will sing Remendado in Carmen at the Arena di Verona, Ruiz at the Festival Verdi in Parma, Goro in Madama Butterfly in Genova and Palermo, 4 servants in Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Venice.
In the sacred repertoire he have sung the Messa di Incoronazione and the Requiem by W.A. Mozart, Der Messias by G. F. Haendel in the Mozartversion in german and the Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini.
