Milan Perišić
Born in Novi Sad, Serbia, his music studies span across various fields of study: Accordion, Music theory, Composition (Bachelor’s degree at the Academy of Arts in his hometown) and Voice (Master’s degree at the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste). He was among the participants of the second edition of Crescendo YAP at the Teatro Real in Madrid. In 2023 he won three consecutive first prizes at international competitions: Les Corts (Barcelona), Josep Palet (Martorell) and BA Lirica (Busto Arsizio) - in all of which he also won special prizes. 2023 has also seen him win the second prize at 40th Ciudad de Logroño, la Rioja international competition. In September he sang at the finals of Paris Opera Competition held at the legendary Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.The latest acknowledgments come from the Sumi Jo International Singing Competition, where he was one of 11 finalists chosen amongst more than 500 participants in the first edition held this July, and, more recently still, XX Certamen de Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla, where he won second prize in November, and VII Concurso de Canto Compostela Lírica, crowning the year 2024 with another first prize.
In his repertoire are roles such as Lescaut (Manon Lescaut), Marcello (La bohème), Don Giovanni, Oreste (Iphigénie en Tauride), which he covered in Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, baritone in Carmina Burana, as well as many secondary and comprimario roles. In 2022 he created the lead role of Alonso in the world premiere of the Zarzuela El orgullo de quererte by Javier Carmena at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid. In 2023 he made his debut and triple appearance at the Gran Teatre del Liceu: in Tosca (as the Jailer), Incoronazione di Poppea (as Littore and Seneca’s familiar) and in the european premiere of John Adams’ newest opera ‘Antony & Cleopatra’ as Scarus. Last year he also returned to Teatro Real, playing the roles of the Lackey, Ivan Ivanovich and Student in Barrie Kosky’s production of Shostakovich’s surrealist opera The Nose.
His concert activity includes varied music forms, such as song cycles by Britten, Fauré, Brahms, Vaughan Williams, De Falla, but also integral Zarzuela (Torroba’s María Manuela and Luisa Fernanda).
He sang under the guidance of world’s renowned conductors such as Emmanuelle Haïm, ShinYeon Sung, Giacomo Sagripanti, Henrik Nánási, Jordi Savall, Luca Guglielmi, Mark Wigglesworth, John Adams, Jordi Francés…
Among his next debuts we find Cecil (Maria Stuarda), Harašta (The Cunning Little Vixen), Schaunard (La bohème) and Il conte (Le nozze di Figaro). His next house debuts include Teatre Principal de Palma, ABAO Bilbao Opera and Paris Opéra - Bastille.
