Alejandro López
Mr. Lopez began his studies at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico, later continued his training as a scholarship holder of the International Society of Mexican Art Values, the Studio of the Opera de Bellas Artes and the Center for Perfection Plácido Domingo at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, currently continuing his training under the guidance of maestro Hector Sosa. At the Opera de Bellas Artes he worked on productions of La Traviata, Nabucco, Turandot, Rigoletto, La Boheme, Viva la Mamma and Otello.
He got numerous awards in Mexico, including special prizes at the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition, first place at the Linus Lerner Competition and second place at the San Miguel Lyric Competition. In Spain he was a winner at the Alcalá de Henares International Singing Competition. He has sung under the baton of conductors such as Plácido Domingo, Roberto Abbado, Fabio Biondi, Nicola Luisotti, Henrik Nanasi, Giampaolo Bisanti, Christoper Franklin, Ramón Tebar, Guillermo García Calvo, Srba Dinic, Iván López Reynoso, Aldo Sisillo, Giacomo Sagripanti, Giuliano Carella. Mr. Lopez has also worked with famous stage directors such as Carlus Padrissa-La fura des Baus, David McVicar, Davide Livermore, Emilio Sagi, Jean Luois Grinda, Hugo de Ana, Sofía Coppola, Mario Pontiggia, Allex Aguilera and Stefania Panighini, to name a few. He made his international debut at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía playing the role of Abimelech in the opera Samson et Dalila, subsequently participating in the productions of Aida, Idomeneo, La Traviata, Lucrezia Borgia, Werther and Jeanne d'Arc au bucher and Tosca in the same venue. His subsequent engagements include his participation in La tempestad at the Zarzuela Theatre, Turandot at the Ópera de las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Aida at the Opera National de Lorraine, Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro dell'Opera Giocosa in Savona, Samson et Dalila at the Teatro Maestranza in Seville, La Boheme at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari and Tosca and I Puritani at the Palau Euskalduna in Bilbao. In March 2022 he participated in the Spanish premiere of the Opera Florencia en el Amazonas.
His most recent engagements include productions at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, the Gran Teatro de Cordoba, the Teatro Verdi in Padua, the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, the Teatro Comunale Mario del Monaco and his debut at the Gran Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona in the opera Lady Macbeth von Mtsensk and subsequently his debut in the role of Padre Guardiano in Verdi's La Forza del Destino
