A tenor with a “magnificent timbre; a brilliant, Mediterranean voice” (L’Opera), Luciano Ganci continues to gain prominence as he takes the stage at the world’s most prestigious theatres in emblematic Italian roles.

At the beginning of 2024 he made his debuts as Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut) at the Teatro Comunale, Bologna, and Jacopo Foscari (I due Foscari) at the Teatro Municipale, Piacenza, and performed at the Norske Opera & Ballett, Oslo (Madama Butterfly), at the Salzburg Easter Festival in the Verdi Requiem conducted by Antonio Pappano, in a concert performance of Aida conducted by Riccardo Muti at the Tokyo Spring Festival and at the Deutschen Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf (Don Carlo). This year he will also perform in Lucca at the concert “Puccini secondo Muti”, at the Caracalla Festival, debuting in Turandot, and at the Teatro Filarmonico, Verona (Stiffelio). In between, he will take a leading role at the Parma Verdi Festival, singing in Macbeth (French version), Attila and in the Verdi Gala. This year, Luciano Ganci’s repertoire will extend to twenty Verdi roles.

In recent seasons, he has excelled in concerts and productions at the Teatro dell’Opera, Rome (Aida, Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly), Liceu, Barcelona (Aida), Teatro Comunale, Bologna (Andrea Chénier, Adriana Lecouvreur film opera, Verdi Gala, Madama Butterfly), Wiener Staatsoper (Adriana Lecouvreur, Tosca) Macerata Opera Festival (Aida), Opéra Royal de Wallonie (Adriana Lecouvreur, Alzira), Concertgebouw, Amsterdam (Fedora in a concert performance), Konzerthaus Berlin (Dalinda, world premiere), Milan Duomo (Verdi Requiem for Manzoni150), Arena di Verona (Aida), Halle aux Grains, Toulouse (Le Villi), Torre del Lago (Madama Butterfly), Wexford Festival Opera (Edmea) and New National Theatre, Tokyo (Simon Boccanegra), to mention just some.
