Fabio Capitanucci
At the age of 23 Fabio Maria Capitanucci wins the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto competition and from 1999 until 2001 he enters at the Accademia di Perfezionamento of Teatro alla Scala.
Since 1999 he’s been a regular guest at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where he debuts as Marcello in La Bohème, Cavalier Belfiore in Un giorno di regno, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Lescaut in Massenet’s Manon, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte. Over the years in the same theatre he sings also Lucia di Lammermoor, Les Troyens, Il viaggio a Reims and Le nozze di Figaro.
During his career he sings in many of the major Italian, European and International theatres: L’elisir d’amore in Barcelona, Bari, Florence, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Valencia, Rome, London, Madrid, Turin and Trapani; La Bohème in Genoa, Dresden, Madrid, Verona, Stresa, Turin, London, New York and in Tokyo; Le nozze di Figaro in Turin, Madrid, Vienna, Palermo and Dresden; Madama Butterfly in Palermo, in Barcelona and in Dresden; Candide, Il viaggio a Reims and La vedova allegra in Genoa; Roberto Devereux in Pamplona, Marseille and Munich; Così fan tutte in Hamburg, Genoa and Rieti; Lucia di Lammermoor in Marseille, Turin, Munich and in New York; Don Pasquale in Florence, Genoa and at in Miami; La Cenerentola in Barcelona and Dresden; Il barbiere di Siviglia in Wien, Glyndebourne, London, Florence, Dresden, Berlin, Lausanne, Palma de Mallorca, Palermo, Budapest, Hamburg and Munich; La Traviata in Wien, Turin and Munich; Falstaff in Vienna, Dresden, Milan and Monte Carlo; Les Troyens in London and in Milan; Linda di Chamounix in Barcelona; Il Pirata in Marseille; I Puritani in La Coruña and in Madrid, Maria Stuarda in Montecarlo and Pagliacci in Melbourne, Lo sposo di tre e marito di nessuna in Florence, La gazza ladra and Cublai, gran kan de’ Tartari in Wien.
Beside opera, his repertoire includes also sacred and symphonic music, such as Perosi’s La Cena del Signore and Orff’s Carmina Burana. He records Madama Butterfly (CD) for EMI Classics conducted by M° Pappano, Cilea’s Gina (CD) for Bongiovanni, La Bohème (DVD) for Opus Arte, La cambiale di matrimonio (CD) for Dynamic, Leoncavallo’s I Medici (CD) and Fedora for Deutsche Grammophon.

Since 2020, he has dedicated himself to teaching at Italian conservatories. He is currently a tenured singing teacher at the Conservatorio Giacomo Puccini in Gallarate.
