Sieva Borzak
Sieva Borzak is an Italian-Russian conductor. He has recently been noticed internationally during the Malko Competition 2024, being one of the six semi-finalists of the prestigious competition in Copenhagen. After this achievement, he has been invited by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra for a symphonic program.
In 2025 he is the winner of the International Opera Conducting Competition Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège
He studied with some of the greatest conductors, working on both operatic and symphonic repertoire: with Riccardo Muti, Daniel Oren and in 2024 with Daniele Gatti.
Very active in the operatic repertoire, in 2024 he made his debut at the Teatro Sociale di Como conducting Puccini’s Turandot.
He made his operatic debut in 2019, at the age of 22, conducting La Finta Amante at the Giovanni Paisiello Festival. He has worked as Assistant Conductor of the Italian conductor Francesco Lanzillotta, at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie working on Bastarda.
Sieva Borzak is also active in the symphonic field. Since 2021 he is Conductor in Residence of Roma Tre Orchestra, with which he has conducted over 70 symphonic concerts.
He has conducted various orchestras, such as: Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orchestra Sinfonica Rossini, Orchestra Giovanile “Luigi Cherubini”, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra…
He received awards and recognitions: in 2024 he was awarded by Daniele Gatti with the Diploma of Merit at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana; in 2023 he won the 1st Prize and the Orchestra’s Prize at the Peter Maag
He has recorded the album “Elegy”, released by Brilliant Classics, with Roma Tre Orchestra and the saxophonist Jacopo Taddei, conducting a Russian program, followed by his second album “French Elegy”, focused on music by Debussy, Ravel and Saint-Saëns.
Highlights from 2024-25 season are: Puccini’s Messa di Gloria with Roma Tre Orchestra, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Orchestra Sinfonica Brutia, symphonic concerts with Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto and Orchestra della Magna Grecia.
The projects for the 2025-26 season are: Così fan tutte at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, I Puritani at the Opera Lombardia Circuit (Como, Pavia, Cremona), followed by symphonic concerts with Bodensee Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.
