Sieva Borzak
Sieva Borzak, born in Rome (Italy) in 1997, is an Italian-Russian conductor. He has studied opera singing, Piano, Composition. He has studied conducting with Bruno Aprea, Francesco Lanzillotta, Daniele Agiman, Marco Zuccarini, Fabrizio Ventura, Konrad Von Abel.
Since 2021 he is the new Conductor in Residence of Roma Tre Orchestra.
In 2018 he founded the Orchestra “Le Metamorfosi”, a Roman ensemble with whom he achieved great success in the territories of Lazio and Tuscany. Starting from 2018 he became the Artistic Director of “Il Giardino della Musica” Chamber Music Festival, in Arezzo (Tuscany). He also holds the role of Principal Conductor of the UBCM Chamber Orchestra, in Rome.
He has conducted various orchestras, including Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, I Musici di Parma, Orchestra da Camera del “Giovanni Paisiello Festival”, Roma Sinfonietta, Roma Tre Orchestra, Ensemble Testori, Romae Philharmonia Orchestra, Camerata Classica, Orchestra “Le Metamorfosi”, UCBM Chamber Orchestra.
In September 2019, at 22, he made his operatic debut at the Paisiello Festival with La Finta Amante, first ever performance in moderntimes. He has collaborated as Assistant Conductor at Macerata Opera Festival 2020, with Don Giovanni, directed by Davide Livermore,and came back in 2021 assisting Paolo Bortolameolli in Traviata. Together with his Roma Tre Orchestra he has conducted since 2020 programmes including Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Glazunov, Richard Strauss, Mozart, Liszt, Coplandand Mahler, Gershwin, Dukas, Debussy, as well as working with great soloists such as Giovanni Sollima, Anton Spronk and Aubree Oliverson. He also took careof the Mozart Project, focused on the streaming recording of the entire cycle of Mozart’s Piano Concertos, with the Roma Tre Orchestra.Together with the saxophonist Jacopo Taddei, he is the protagonist of the album “Russian Elegy”, produced by Roma Tre Orchestra. In 2023 he was Assistant Conductor at the Theatre La Monnaie, Bruxelles (Bastarda, a project based on Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, Roberto Devereux, Elisabetta al castello di Kenilworth), and took part at Riccardo Muti Opera Academy in Ravenna, and then conducted a new production of Turandot for AsLiCo.
